The Half Pine Cone. Fruit of the pine tree, it has always held symbolic meanings of life force, immortality, and divinity, linked to the tree that generates it, along with those of fertility and regenerative power due to the seeds it contains. Sicilian folk tradition holds that it is useful to give pine cones as gifts and hang them above the front door as a wish for health and good luck to the family who lives there.
